Triad Visible Light Cure System
Custom Impression Tray Technique Highlights

Outline for relief wax may be drawn on the cast, usually 2 to 3 mm short of tray border

Block out undercuts on the cast with wax or moulding compound

Baseplate wax is adapted to the edentulous or partially dentulous cast for tissue relief and trimmed to the desired outline.

Paint TRIAD Model Release Agent (MRA) on areas of the cast to which TRIAD VLC Custom Tray Material will be adapted - and on the relief areas.

Remove either TRIAD TruTray or Original Blue Tray Material from the light-proof packaging. Carefully adapt it to the cast and trim with a sharp blade.

If using TruTray material, attach a handle by moulding excess material into shape and blending the edges into the tray material on the cast.

If using Original Blue Tray Material, mould excess material to a paper clip or prefabricated metal tray handle.

Place cast and tray in the TRIAD Unit; cure for two (2) minutes. Remove the tray from the cast, and peel softened wax out of the tray.

Paint the entire tray with TRIAD Air Barrier Coating (ABC). Place the tray on the turntable of the TRIAD Curing Unit, tissue side up. If using TruTray, cure for two (2) minutes. If using Original Blue Tray, cure for six (6) minutes.

Remove the water soluble ABC with a brush and water. Adjust and finish the borders to the desired outline. Trays may be perforated to aid in retaining alginate impression material.
