Description:
This program is a "hands-on" bench program concentrating on concepts of anterior and posterior tooth
arrangements. Various posterior positioning patterns may be employed. The workshop provides good methods
of establishing occlusal curvatures as a "normal" configuration. A portion of the slide/lecture covers
flat occlusal schemes when a preference is indicated for that type of tooth arrangement.
The all day program emphasizes:
- Esthetics in Anterior Tooth Arrangements
- Functional Posterior Tooth Positioning
- Development of Proper Wax Contouring
- Improved Phonetic and Functional Benefits
The development of truly personalized tooth arrangements is based on facial characteristics, oral
landmarks, and factors of denture contour which benefit the patient. Slides of natural dentition are shown
to demonstrate the subtle differences nature employs between various face/arch/tooth forms and their
relationship to esthetic, functional tooth positions.
Various posterior occlusal designs are illustrated and articulator settings necessary to achieve accurate,
continuous, bilateral, cross-arch cuspal balance for each is discussed. The posterior teeth employed in the
workshop is the Anatoline design, however, other Trubyte occlusal designs can be employed if desired.
Articulator mounted casts are provided for Complete Denture Workshop programs. The principles illustrated
in the slide/lecture are used as a basis to develop anterior and posterior tooth arrangements.
Workshop participants set-up and wax-up one upper and one lower denture. Wax contouring to restore more
natural and normal appearance as well as improved functional efficiency is emphasized throughout the all
day Complete Denture Workshop.
Participants should bring their favorite wax spatulas, carvers, wax knife, alcohol torch and fuel along
with a towel, smock or laboratory gown to protect clothing.
The artificial teeth employed during this program, along with cast/mountings, baseplates, portfolios, etc.
become the property of each participant.
